Friendly Restaurant with Lovely Food

We popped in without a booking for a meal and were made welcome.
The meal was well cooked and all choices were delicious- the fish, steak, duck.
It was so good we opted to return for our last night in Saint Gatien des Bois.

Great value for money

For a very decent amount of money you get a clean room, good location, continental breakfast and friendly staff. Expect no facilities like gym and bar - but you are most likely not in the area to hang out at a hotel anyway.
We had a pleasant stay. Be aware, the village is small and the hotel is close to the church - so no big deal if you forgot to set the alarm. You are most likely to wake up anyway.

Good dining

We had a warm reception when we arrived for an overnight stay. The first floor room size was compromised by the sloping roof which made getting into one side of the bed and into the shower a bit awkward, but was fine otherwise. The evening meal was excellent - compliments to the chef/owner - while the breakfast next was also very good and good value also. Free parking opposite the hotel. Handy for visiting nearby Pont L'Eveque and Honfleur.

Friendly welcome

Ours hosts offered a very friendly welcome, it was a great choice of location following the afternoon ferry to Le Havre. We visited the bar next door before dinner and ate at the hotel after. The dinner was delicious and our daughter enjoyed playing with our hosts daughter between courses! Our room was perfectly adequate and comfortable for the price. We had breakfast there in the morning and it was the best one of the whole holiday. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely food in the restaurant

The evening meal in the restaurant was lovely and would suggest dining here.
However we found the bedroom small and awkward to move around due to the slope of the roof.
The rooms have no windows, only the outside door which meant the room got very hot & stuffy during the night, we had the added problem of the bathroom extractor motor directly above the bed in the loft space droning quite loudly all night, which kept us both awake. The owner in the morning did apologize and said she would get it looked at, I hope this was done so hopefully no one else will loose a night sleep. We didn't stay for breakfast
We would certainly eat at the restaurant again, but probably not stay.
