We loved it

We stayed in studio 1. The studio is in a 17th century building (something we love), in a very good location close to the metro and the city centre. We loved the large bedroom with a big comfortable bed, decorated in a cosy, interesting style. It was very quiet - we could not hear any noise from outside! Very good shower - good pressure and plenty of hot water.
There were a few little things that let it down - the place could be cleaner (lots of dust in some areas), and the shower doesn't have any curtains or screen so it tends to flood the floor of the bathroom, no matter how careful you are. But we thought it was very charming and the owner very friendly and we'd stay there again.

17th century building

The apartment is housed in a 17th century building. It could be a bit creaky and old, but it is comfortable nonetheless. The location is safe and at a walking distance from the city centre and Grand Place. The host guided us well and was very easy to get in touch with.

Very close to the city center

If you're expecting a modern apartment, you will not going to like this one. The house is about 300 years old and you can see this in every detail. But it's full of personality and we liked it! The kitchen is fully equipped. The room with the toilet is tiny ( separate from the shower room ) and the shower room has no door. This could be a downside if you're not travelling as a couple. It is very close to the city center ( about 10 minutes walk ).

2 nights in Brussels downtown

This place has everything for a romantic stay. To start with it's a XVII century property. It impressed my from the very beginning when the landlord was showing me way to my room on the ground-floor. Just by my door there were steps going down to a deep cellar full of stuff, looking a bit scary like a haunted place. My studio was longitudinal but still it's full of small cosy spaces. A tiny square courtyard with a big straw chair and a small table looked attractive though useless in rainy winter days of my stay. It would be nice for a couple on a leisure trip while I was alone travelling for business.
The neigbourhood deserves to be mentioned separately. It's the heart of the old-fashioned Brussels avoided (or undiscovered) by tourists, though it takes just a few minutes to walk to Sainte Catherine with it's famous restaurants.

Not a Good Experience

We had a very bad experience here! Booked what was described as a two bedroom apartment through one of the big hotel booking sites. The photos made it look basic but clean. The reality was very different. First of all it was difficult to find the building. We had trouble communicating with the woman who came to let us in as we didn't seem to have any languages in common. Once she let us in, we immediately realized this was not what we thought we had ordered. The apartment - which had one bed in the living room and two mattresses on the floor of a small loft - was on the top floor of an old, run-down building. Access was through dark hallways and up rickety, creaky stairs. The layout was very odd and the apartment lacked several things listed on the booking site. We chose not to stay - mostly because the stairs and hallways made us nervous.
Good thing: The owner of the apartment promptly agreed to cancel our booking and not charge us a penalty.
