Relaxing Nature Getaway Near Kakanakote Safari
The best part about the place is definitely its location. It’s very close to the Kabini backwaters, and the view from the cottages is just beautiful. If you’re up for a short walk (around a kilometre) through open fields, you can reach the river and just sit there soaking in the calm and quiet surroundings for as long as you like—it’s quite peaceful.
The resort is quite close to the Kakanakote safari gate, which makes it really convenient if you’re planning a safari. The property itself is spacious and there’s plenty of space to just relax and unwind.
The cottages were decent—clean, well-maintained, and had all the basic amenities you’d need. The food was good too, with a decent buffet spread and enough variety. The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better.
The only real issue we faced was the road leading to the resort. Once you leave the main road, it turns into a rough, pebbly track, and the drive isn’t very pleasant. This is something that could definitely be improved.
Overall, we had a great time. Highly recommended.

Underwhelming and bad staff
All the pictures look much better and bigger on screen than in real life, the property and the rooms. The pool is more a XL jacuzzi than a pool. Overall, very underwhelming place. Would not reccomend for the price.
Food was average, at best. The prev nights dirty plates were piled up in the restaurant at breakfast. Last mile connectivity is very bad, the road isn't a real road.
Most importantly, the service and staff were very bad. There are a lot of establishments that tell you beforehand, while booking itself, that day guests or visitors are not allowed into the property and Fireflies is *not* one of them. They specified no such rules while booking and then flat out refused to let a friend enter for 5mins before we left the property entirely, I asked for a policy etc to see but there was nothing.. Refusal is one thing, but being rude while doing so is a whole other, esp for people in the hospitality industry. Absolutely disgusting.
