We booked this hotel because we were visiting friends and wanted to be closer to the air port on the last day. The staff at the front desk were a bit cold.
The room was alright. Clean yet utilitarian. The bed was good.
The restaurant was the problem. We are not big on hotel restaurants. But it was very hot and we were tired. I’m not snobby and I give the staff some grace. This was bad. We were a table of four and came fairly early. There were only two other tables. The waiter who was very nice but untrained. The wine list and menu were very expensive. It took some 15 minutes to come to our table. We ordered rose wine for the table. We didn’t want it to be sweet. The waiter left for 10 minutes later with a room temperature bottle. He couldn’t open it and we had to ice it for 20 minutes to make it cold. We ordered our food. Two people in our party were Brazilian they did the most of the communicating.
The dining room got busy. Our food took 40 minutes to come and they brought the appetizers and entrees at the same time. This was strange.
The food was substandard for the price. My risotto was cold and pasty. My friend had ravioli that was cold and dry plopped on the sauce. The other people in our party were not impressed either. No one came to check on us. We had to get up and find someone to get our check. The hotel has been there for 10 years. The bugs should have been worked out.

Modern city hotel

A modern hotel of international standard. The rooftop pool is especially recommended. Very large room; large, modern bathroom. Both are spotlessly clean. Very pleasant breakfast room with an extensive breakfast buffet. Attentive staff. I only had a stopover here on the way to the Pantanal. But you could also stay here longer. Recommendation!

Very Good Stay – Service Stands Out!

I had a very good stay at the Gran Odara Hotel. The service was excellent from start to finish—staff were friendly, attentive, and very accommodating, which made the experience especially pleasant.
The rooms could benefit from some updates, as the floor and the décor feels a bit outdated. However, everything works well and the room was comfortable overall.
Breakfast was good but has some room for improvement in terms of variety and quality.
Overall, I would recommend the hotel, mainly because of the outstanding service. I would definitely stay there again the next time I’m in town.

Fantastic hotel and restaurant

Enjoyed this hotel before and after our Pantanal trip and enjoyed our two stays immensely! Rooms are huge and comfortable. The restaurant for both dinner steaks/seafood and breakfast buffet was fantastic. We also were able to walk to the supermarket and large park nearby. There was usually one person able to speak English at the front desk too. Highly recommend!
