Exceptional location

Exceptional location. Arrivals with Ryanair in Sofia. Subway exit, walk 20 meters and you've arrived. You cross the street and you have the bank. In front of the main street with all types of places. Very comfortable. Absolutely a top location. Clean! But you must have few demands. Leaking sink. Ceiling that is a little detached. In short, it's like a horror movie. But what do you want with 30 euros a night? I would go back. I then spend the money on eating out.

A nightmare. pay to sleep on the floor and without any type of security.

It has been a very very bad experience. To begin with, we had agreed with the accommodation that they would give us instructions to obtain the keys to our room, since we arrived outside reception hours. However, when we arrived at the accommodation, the keys nr.4, our supposed room, were not there. In fact, that room was occupied by other travelers. We tried to contact them by phone and email with the number they had given us, but we did not receive a response. Being two in the morning, we saw no other option than to take the keys to the only room available. That room was for three people, with half-made and dirty beds. As we had booked a room for four, we had to sleep partly on the floor. We contacted booking, but the only solution at that time was to stay in that room that was not ours because at that time we were not going to find anything else; In addition to being four young girls, it was not at all advisable to walk through the streets of an unknown city, without knowing the language that has another alphabet (people generally did not know English) at three in the morning.
The next day we wanted to solve the problem without having slept a minute and on the floor. Out of nowhere the keys for room 4 appeared in the key box. We took them and went to check if they were from our supposed room and, indeed, we found “our” room occupied. There were suitcases, bottles of alcohol, etc. So we called for the umpteenth time the phone number that they had theoretically given us in case there were any problems. Supposedly the reception opened at 9am. We waited almost an hour and a half until a cleaning person came. He didn't know English, but we told him there was a problem and he called a phone. They caught him after several attempts but he didn't get a solution either, just some answers in an aggressive tone and he hung up on him. Shortly after, the person we had previously tried to contact called me. Explaining the situation, in the middle of the conversation he hung up on us. Half an hour later, while we were trying to solve everything through booking, explaining twice more what had happened, they hung up on us twice, thank goodness we had a cell phone that is not charged for international calls since we were forced to wait and call several times. times to booking; The man appeared, rudely telling us that he was now going to give us another room for four people. He only told us that he was going to reimburse us for that night's stay, not for the rest, he was not going to compensate us. This money has not reached us yet. We had to wait another hour to be able to have a room similar to the one we had booked at once. Room that was dirty, we couldn't charge all the phones since not all the outlets worked and with a bathroom that had mold. During the entire stay, at no time was there a receptionist to ask questions, neither outside nor within the supposed reception hours. In conclusion, customer service was not only terrible, but non-existent. The conditions under which we spent the first night were unacceptable: without enough beds, without sheets, without a duvet, in a dirty room with bugs coming out of the shower, etc. Not only did we not sleep, but the next day they made us lose an entire morning at the hotel because there was no one at the reception. We had to start our stay in Sofia without resting and without being able to take advantage of the day. In fact, if there hadn't been an empty unmade room, we would have had to spend the night on the street. The subsequent treatment was also not adequate and there was not even someone at the reception to leave the keys at check out. We have not obtained any type of compensation, which of course, under the circumstances that we had to spend the night, the repercussions that this had on our travel plans such as losing many hours and not being able to enjoy ourselves due to all the problems, is more than required.

Apparently luxury means no hot water or towels!

This review goes from bad to worse to absolutely appauling behaviour from the management.
Short version is that this supposedly lux apartment at £50 per night had...
* Hidden fees
* No towels for first 10 hours
* No hot water for first 30 hours (of a 2.5 night stay!)
* No hairdryer or kettle for first 18 hours
* No microwave (so no way to make a hot drink until kettle finally arrived)
* No tea/coffee/sugar or even soap provided
* Manger refused me a refund and FASLEY accused me of theft
* Called me "not normal" and a "crazy woman" "...for a towel and hot water - is like someone tried to kill her" on a public forum.
* Ultimately they have now been removed by the booking agent - one of the largest on the internet!
Full version
I booked their "lux" apartment for myself and a friend which was listed as 2 bedrooms but actually is more like a studio with the bedroom open to the living room, open to the kitchen and hallway. I ended up travelling alone so this was OK but £50 per night is A LOT of money for a one bed apartment in Sofia.
I messaged the property via facebook before I booked and asked if they allowed late check in (my flight didn't get in until midnight) and they agreed that they did - no mention of a charge. It was only after they had taken payment in full that they told me it would be 7 euros for this - not a lot of money but its the kind of thing that should have been stated from the outset.
I was collected by a very pleasant young man and taken to a very dodgy looking door in a very dark street (this place is seperat to the other Italian Lux properties) I've since found out that this property is right on the border with what they consider to be the shady part of town but in the day time its absolutely fine, busy shopping street, lots of people around.
I arrived to a very cold apartment and after the employee had left (assuring me I could speak with the on Monday re. my concerns about the $7 euro fee) I realised there was no towels. I text and was told apologies, staff should have left them and they would be brought to me the morning which they were by 11am. When I tried to shower however I found no hot water. I text again and was told yet again staff should have done it and was told how to do it and that it would take half an hour. I had to go out on a tour but when i returned at 15:30 there was still no hot water. I text and was told someone would come but I had to be in as they had no keys. I was now stuck in the apartment until the person arrived and fixed it. At 7:30pm I tried again and there was still no hot water and again I had a tour booked so off I went again unshowered. By the morning thankfully there was hot water!
Keep in mind that this is cited as a luxury holiday apartment. In my extensive travels I have never been anywhere luxury that hasnt provided at least a sachet of tea/coffe but there was nothing. No soap, no dish towels, nothing to clean up with and certianly no salt pepper, tea coffee etc. I had to buy EVERYTHING. Not that I could make a cup of tea because there was no kettle or microwave. I was eventually brought the kettle and hairdryer that had been advertised.
One of the main reasons we had paid the extra to book this "luxury" apartment was because of the jacuzzi bath (in the bedroom which can be seen into from livingroom and kitchen btw - no privacy if travelling with a non-partner!) but I couldnt use this for the first half of my stay due to the lack of hot water so I was pretty sure I was entitled to at least a partial refund.
The manager didnt make contact until the Monday night when he told me we would discuss refund in morning when he came to make sure I checked out on time. However in the morning he was not willing to discuss it and said I would need to speak with the booking agent.
On my return, after speaking with my booking agent, I was told that the property would not refund as I had 1) not asked to be moved 2) had not asked for a refund straight away and 3) had stolen a hairdryer
Firslty I have proof from the nice staff member that I did not take the hairdryer (I was travelling ryanair with handluggage - I had to wear half my clothes why would I steal an old hairdryer with the wrong plug on it!!!!)
Secondly - I had no alternate accomodation booked and I was being assured it would be fixed imminently so why would I ask to be moved? I was only there for 60 hours!
Thirdly - I wasn't able to speak to the manager to ask for a refund until the Monday night (16 hours before I was leaving) and I did so as soon as I did speak to him
The booking agent offered me a refund out their pocket but I didnt feel that was good enough so I was told it was best that I speak to the property myself. I made a request on fb to talk to the manager by phone or email but instead they engaged in a conversation via their facebook page. They told me I had been given everything I asked for - true but i remind you - no hot water for half my stay!!!! They denied accusing me of stealing the hairdryer but deleted the conversation when I posted the email they had sent to the booking agent where they said I had "taken it out of revenge"
This eventually culminated in them calling me "not normal" and a "crazy woman" "...over a towel and hot water - is like someone tried to kill her" on a public forum!
Can you imagine that - expecting to get towels and hot water in a luxury £50 a night apartment!!!! Next I'll be wanting a bed and a roof over my head!!!!
So yes, I have now been refunded by the booking agent and this unscrupulous organisation has been removed from one of the top booking sites in the world. Obviously our conversation was deleted from fb but thank goodnedd for trip advisor so I can warn others off!!!

I need of Improvements

We stayed in this pension two nights in a triple room that look very different from the photos it showed on internet. It's part of a commercial building that needs improvements in its walls, has humidity, patches in the roof, it was a rainy day and water entered from upside. We had many windows that faced directly in a wall. In contrasts beds, towels and all place in geneeal were clean. Attention from the staff was good. Location is very good , centrical, with bus lines, supermarkets and food places to eat nearby. It has potential, but really need improvements in order to be recommended.
