A very nice address
Pauline took over this case in the early summer. She is considerate and very kind. The house is well located and quiet. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very functional. Breakfasts are good and varied (sweet and savoury with yogurt and homemade pastries). A kitchen and a fridge/freezer available and a beautiful garden make it a very good address.

Value for money accommodation
The hotel was a little hard to find coming from the Pyrenees direction even with sat nav! From the other direction a good sign at the road in which to turn, one from the other direction would be helpful. The basic gitenstyle accommodation was very comfortable. Our bedroom was facing the big garden which was very attractive with sweeping views. The bedroom was large and even had a piano in it! The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The en suite a little tired but clean with a nice sized shower.. There is a large reception area which also doubled as the dining room with a being central table where everyone would sit round and have their breakfast which was collected by the owner from the local patisserie consisting of pastries and croissants etc. We would have liked a walk through the village and river but unfortunately the weather was tipping down so not an option. Perhaps another time.mwould recommend in this price bracket.

Lo Saunei - The Dream
This was a hard place to find until you are nearly there. Its in Beon really not Aste or Laruns. The owner gave us a friendly welcome and showed us our two cosy rooms with our own lounge and opened the french doors to the amazing back garden with the valley, the hills and the mountains and a mischievous tabby cat who quickly took to our children. We loved it at Lo Saunei ("The Dream in Bearn language) and wished we had booked in for more than one night. We will be back!

Very clean B&B, friendly owners
Very clean room and en-suite, along with a pleasant breakfast room. Our room was bright, spacious and well decorated. There were tea/coffee making facilities, and in the en-suite towels and toiletries supplied. The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. There is also a small lounge area on the mezzanine, with a TV and books.
The breakfast supplied was plentiful, with a good variety of choices, and served at a time to suit us.
The owners are friendly, and welcoming without being overbearing, and they are happy for you to come and go as you choose.
The wifi is a bit hit and miss, but i think this is due to the poor connections in a rural location and not the owners. The property is about 4km from Laruns, and is a bit hard to find, so i would suggest you ask for directions if you make a booking,
I would use them again, and recommend them.

A lovely stay but beware location on booking.com - NOT in Laruns!
Clean, smart & new bedroom/bathroom, great breakfast with homemade jams & plenty available, great views despite November mist and Philippe & Nathalie were very welcoming and friendly (I'm not sure how much English they speak as we spoke in French). One note of caution; the location on booking.com is wrong and shows Lo Saunei as being in Laruns, whereas in fact it is just outside Aste village about 5km up the road. From Pau head through Aste village to the church, take the 1st on the right, then 1st left and follow the road left round 3 sides of a field/village green, following smallish green signs to Lo Saunei at the end of a short gravelled track/drive.
