Avoid

Transit hotel with Leger Tours.
Restaurant good. Staff helpful. Breakfast good Limited English spoken which was tricky for some guests.
The room. R 112. Terrible. Smelt of damp. Very basic. Stayed in better youth hostels. Mould and damp very evident in room and shower room. Rusty fittings. Yoilet was vlean however. No towel rail. No basin plug !??

Rude and aggressive receptionist

We checked in on the Saturday evening 22nd of August 2026 and we were met by a very friendly professional and helpful male receptionist, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel which we had not previously booked on booking.com and paid for it. The room was clean and comfortable although the shower was loose on the wall and could not be adjusted for height. At breakfast it was a glorious sunny morning and you could clearly see from the breakfast lounge dining area extremely inviting tables and chairs outside in the sunshine, so husband and I decided to have breakfast outside through a standard door leading outside which had no signage to say it should not be used and which was unlocked. So we sat outside eating our breakfast enjoying the morning sun when we were rudely approached by the hotel female staff (short middle aged woman with short black hair) in a very agitated and aggressive manner expressing her frustration and anger telling us we should not have gone outside to have breakfast and that it was hotel rules not to go outside and it was forbidden, and that we should have asked her before doing so. We were both shocked and disbelieved by the level of escalation of her anger and aggressive manner. We were unaware that we were not supposed to go and sit out and the woman explained we were not in England and told us not to come back again! She declined to give us her name as we really felt we should report her. She was truly rude and racist!

The worst hotel stay we have ever experienced.

On the first leg of our holiday, we had a fabulous stay at the Kyriad Troyes and decided to cancel our Air BnB to stay with the chain in Laon. It was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced.
The shower in Room 205 was dangerous. I set the temperature but it constantly varied between scalding hot and cold. This is not safe. The shower head holder was also broken meaning that the shower head could not be raised up.
There was something just outside the room which made a buzzing sound for 2 seconds every 5-10 minutes all through the night. It was not the air conditioning as we tried switching that off. We had no sleep at all. To make things worse, kids on motorbikes were racing around the car parks at 1am.
There was no WiFi for the duration of our stay and despite the temperature being 34C, the drinks machine was not working and guests could not buy a bottle of water. Both of these issues were reported to Reception but were not resolved.
It was a truly dreadful stay. I made a verbal and written complaint to the hotel but have not had a response from them in over two weeks.

This was a very late booking following a Car breakdown and we were really just grateful I haven’t found somewhere. We booked this based on previous experiences with Kyriad at hotels but it was quite disappointing.
The rooms were very basic and bland.
Buffet Breakfast was very poorly stocked I’m unable to find any members of staff to help replenish things.
Unlike other Kyriad hotels, this isn’t one we will be returning to.
