Nice hotel. Great for this city
We stayed twice. Regular room was good. Some noise from the street during the night, but probably anywhere in this town due to the steep terrain and difficult building roads and buildings. The two best rooms were really over the top nice. We had pizza one evening from the restaurant in the hotel and it was absolutely excellent!

Best location, great staff
One of the best hotels in Aizwal, The Regency has great location, excellent staff, spacious & clean rooms. The food at their restaurant is also great. Overall we had a great 3 night stay.
If only they had an additional (or larger) elevator, it would be perfect.

Five star service in three star hotel
stayed at Hotel Regency, Aizawl for five nights — three nights in the Executive Suite (Room 605) and two nights in the Presidential Suite (Room 706). This hotel offers a remarkable experience, especially in terms of service and comfort.
Firstly, it is important to clarify that the suite rooms are exceptionally large, contrary to the incorrect information listed on many travel websites. The hotel layout is well organized: Suites (Junior, Executive, and Presidential) are located on the 6th and 7th floors, with the 5th floor being a mix of suites and regular rooms. Floors 2, 3, and 4 are occupied by other room categories, while the reception and restaurant are situated on the 1st floor.
Given the hotel’s location on a hilly terrain, there are two separate entries. The main entrance is at ground level, but it involves climbing steps. For guests with mobility challenges or elderly travelers, there is a backside road entrance directly into the 5th floor, which provides step-free access.
The service is truly extraordinary — far beyond what I have seen even in top-rated five-star hotels. Every staff member is courteous, helpful, and genuinely eager to assist without any expectation of tips or rewards. A wonderful example of this was on my fourth night when, due to heavy rains, our shoes became completely soaked. Early the next morning, prior to checkout, the hotel staff themselves volunteered to dry the shoes for us — and did so willingly and effectively. Such thoughtful service is truly rare.
Areas for Improvement:
The biggest drawback is the bathroom facilities. The toilets are fitted with very old systems, the geyser capacity is extremely limited, providing hardly enough hot water for even half a bucket. The bathtub becomes redundant due to the lack of sufficient hot water. On multiple occasions, we had to request buckets of hot water from housekeeping, which they provided promptly.
While the regular restaurant food is excellent — especially for vegetarians — exceeding expectations, the breakfast offering is disappointing. It is very limited, lacks variety, and becomes repetitive each day. This is an area where the hotel must consider serious improvement.

Mixed Experience at Hotel Regency
My 12 nights of stay at Hotel Regency in Aizawl was a mixed bag. While the hotel's cleanliness and ambiance were commendable, the service left much to be desired. The ladies at the Mangolia Restaurant were warm and courteous, always willing to help. However, their male counterparts were surprisingly rude and manner less. Requests for simple services, like a cup of black coffee, were met with a brusque "self-service" response.
The food was average, with a peculiar tendency for the chef to add sugar to almost every dish, including savory options like nan and paneer pulav.
Overall, Hotel Regency has potential but needs significant improvement in its service standards, particularly among the male staff.

Basic but ok
Clean, basic hotel. Very hard matrace. Clean rooms- housekeeping good. No seperat shower= wet bathroom floor all the time. Wifi good. Breakfast basic and every day the same few items. Downtown location. Very busy neighborhood - can be loud at night with street noise. Creditcard payment possible.
