Awesome resort and super-nice staff!
We visited the resort during the rainy season and got the hill view rooms at the top of the property. The rooms were super new and very nice. The entire room had a glass wall and an awesome balcony from where we could enjoy the beautiful and lush view of Wayanad. The WiFi was fast and reliable. Our room was about half a KM away and at a 200 ft elevation from the reception and the restaurant. They offered a Jeep shuttle service for us to get up and down which was particularly useful for the elderly members of our family. They provided complementary breakfast and room delivery of light food and snacks which we found super useful during the rainy times. All the staff were extremely friendly and courteous which made our stay very pleasant and memorable despite the poor weather. The manager Mr. Anoop offered superior service and went out of the way to arrange for special vegetarian Kerala food and shuttle for our early morning checkout. Overall all aspects of our stay were excellent and I would highly recommend this resort for family vacations.

An outdated resort in Vythiri
This must be the worst ever stay I have had in my life. The Upavan Resort and staff exude the vibes of a 1980s government office.
First, they took nearly 45 minutes for checking us in, despite us arriving on time. No welcome drinks. No pleasantries. Just callous disdain. It felt as though they were doing us some favour by allowing us to stay there for money. The female receptionist there, identified as Beena by another staff member, behaved like an automated arguing robot.
Second, the restaurant matched the front office in utter disregard to the customers. There weren't many food options. Even the routine items we ordered arrived nearly one hour late, even though they had informed us that it would take just 15 minutes.
Suffice to say, they managed to disarray our rather carefully charted sight-seeing plans.
Well, I thought the resort may have some exciting activities to engage in. That may be the reason for their arrogance. A big no there also. They do have a watch tower. But there is nothing much to watch from there.
Okay then, at least the room should be good, for the price they are charging. Disappointment there too. The room is old and faded. The towels looked worn-out and jaded. Even the heater was not working. Worse, the bathroom door was made of some kind of transparent material such that when you put the lights on in the washroom, the entire room is illuminated.
What would you do in such circumstances? We came for leisure, not for this suffering. Certainly not at the cost of our self respect. So we vacated the room the first thing in the next morning, letting go of much of the five-digit tariff that was already paid.
No apologies or feedback-seeking from the resort. They happily let us go.
And this was our happy New Year. I hope our remaining 2026 will be better.

Resort location is excellent
Location is excellent. Well maintained family friendly resort. We stayed in hillview ac three rooms simply super. All the staff members with special reference to Mr Sonu are very cordial. Only cons is hillview rooms are not for 60+ people.

Spacious Rooms, Great Service, and Scenic Views.
The room was spacious and had a nice view overlooking the adjacent hills. The room service was exceptional.
The resort is conveniently situated close to popular tourist attractions such as Lakkidi View Point, Pookode Lake, and En Ooru tribal village, with direct access to the main road. The reception would arrange auto and transportation to visit all the tourist sites.
The morning breakfast buffet was delicious. There are nice cafes and restaurants within the resort. Additionally, the resort has a spa and a game room where you can play table tennis, chess, and mini golf.

Great front office staff. Big clean rooms. Superb view.
Good afternoon. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days at Upvan Resort Lakkidi, in the first week of March. We had a great stay. Big and clean room facing the mountains. The Manager Anil. Front office staff Divya made our stay super comfy. They arranged for a car to do sightseeing. Mr.Shahnavaz the driver was a blessing. I told him all the places I wanted to see and he planned a perfect itinerary.
Coming to the room the coffee, tea,sugar,creamer and waterbottles were refilled everyday without our telling. This usually NEVER happens in other hotels.
The property is so good with watch tower, pool etc.
On the flip side is the restaurant experience. Maybe it was off-season Dhanya madam did her best to make our dining experience comfortable but low score on taste..
We highly recommend this resort.
