Very nice hotel, situated on a main road which leads to both the airport and the central business district. Bus stops just nearby (to the airport, it is on the same side as the hotel, in front of the Lidl supermarket just next to the hotel). Fare on city buses to/from city or airport is 2.60 Euros.
Rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms.

Bus stop in front of the door. Great connection airport and city center. Great rooms and parking spaces on site.

Chosen for the parking options. Rooms are really fine as shown in the pictures on the website. Breakfast is great if you like a heavy Irish breakfast. Healthy option: poached egg. On 1 of the three mornings there was fresh yogurt with one strawberry and granola. I really missed the healthier options. There was no whole grain or multigrain. I tried the oatmeal but it's watery. The service does its best but the atmosphere is depressing

Good location and hotel, but a/c is not guaranteed

Very well-situated hotel lying between the airport and downtown Dublin. The area, Drumconna, has several good coffee shops and cafes, several of which are very close to the hotel. The Skylon feels very secure, with the upper floors requiring pass keys to access them. On the ground floor, the lobby has comfortable seating areas, and the bar (which doubles up as a breakfast buffet) is well appointed. The fixed price (18 Euros) buffet may seem a bit steep, but if you’re hungry, it’s good value for money with an excellent range of food on offer. The bedrooms are comfortable and relatively quiet but be warned that the family rooms do NOT have air conditioning which is otherwise found throughout the hotel. This is incorrectly described on various third-party websites.
The adjacent Lidl is a shining example of the chain’s recent stores, boasting excellent selections and very good prices; it’s also open until the mid-evening, which is convenient.

Shane-O Mac’s Skylon Stay

I had a beautiful experience at the Skylon Hotel to conclude my trip to Europe for the Summer.
When arriving I was greeted warmly by the kind staff who welcomed me to Dublin and Skylon. I arrived rather early from the airport due to my flight time , however, I was very fortunate to receive an early check in time with the staff which was I very appreciative of.
Walking into my room, I was taken away by the cleanliness, ambiance, and peace of the single room. Skylon has done an excellent job with their room design and creating a comfortable space for their guests. The bed was a gracious size for me with a comfortable mattress that gave me a very needed well rest. The bathroom was spacious with hot, well pressured, water.
The Skylon Hotel is conveniently located near the Dublin City center and airport…both of which are easily accessible through bus, and in the area are a number of restaurants/cafes/supermarkets , giving you much to do if you don’t want to go far.
I recommend Restaurant 104 just across the street.
I enjoyed a beautiful and filling Irish breakfast in the morning before heading off to my flight where the staff was attentive and caring to my needs.
I also had the privilege of meeting Tara and Shane with Skylon…such a hardworking and deserving couple whom I envision seeing much continued success with in their work.
I highly recommend staying at the Skylon Hotel to anyone who is looking to travel and experience the beauty of Ireland. If only my stay was longer than 1 night!
I have high intentions of returning Dublin and having a beautiful extended stay at the Skylon Hotel!

Hotel room and foyer were excellent and spotless. Food was reasonably priced and the bar and lounge areas were very nice. The things that let it down were that the toilets near the foyer needed cleaning, the food was average and the service was very slow. Perhaps we were there during a difficult patch so if other reviews say different then take this as a one off. Despite this we still enjoyed our stay as room and location were good.
