I had a great stay at JB Relais and would absolutely recommend it, especially for a solo traveler or couple. The accommodations are more apartment-style than a traditional hotel, which I really enjoyed. My room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, with plenty of closet space and AC. The hosts also left freshly baked croissants each day, which was such a nice touch!
I actually didn’t meet the hosts in person until the end of my stay, but their communication was excellent. They reached out well in advance of my arrival and followed up multiple times to confirm when I would be arriving, make sure I was safe, and ensure I understood the self-check-in instructions. They were also readily available through WhatsApp if I had any questions. Once I found the property, getting inside was very easy and I felt completely safe and secure throughout my stay.
The hotel also arranged a private car to pick me up from the airport, which gave me a lot of peace of mind arriving in Rome for the first time. For future travelers, I would probably recommend comparing the price with Uber, as I found Uber offered lower fixed pricing for trips into the city center. That said, having everything arranged for me in advance was very convenient and reassuring after a long flight.
The entrance can be difficult to spot from the street at first, and there are quite a few stairs, but they help with bags if you arrive and they are onsite. I also paid an €6 tourist tax by card. I would definitely recommend!

This was a great stay for a one nighter before flying out the early the next morning but I wouldn't necessarily stay here for longer. Great location right down the street from a main square, about a 25 min walk to the Colosseum and 15 min to the Trevi fountain. Once you enter the main door from the street, you walk up a very small, narrow stairway and up a tiny elevator- it's not your standard hotel set up. No lobby or amenities- it's just the room itself once you get up to it. The bathroom was nice. The hotel staff are only present from 8-11:30am so there is no contact with anyone unless you check in/out during those few hours. They do send very clear instructions on how to enter if you arrive outside of those times. Decent for the price.

Lovely clean, modern yet rustic room - perfect location and friendly staff. Everything was up to standards and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay

Loved our stay ! Christina and Mary welcomed us with fresh baked croissant’s every morning ( mini) and the air conditioning was the best . There are many stairs to the room ( there is a small lift) so people who can not climb stairs should not stay here . Christina helped out with our luggage when we checked out and arranged a driver for us to the airport. I’d definitely stay here again !
