A cheap place at a central location
The rooms are small and worn out and in some need of repairs plus a lick of paint. My room (2) was the only one with an en-suite bathroom, so I didn’t have to cross the hall in my underwear at night. But the bed was very comfortable. The shower was hard to adjust and turned warm and cold suddenly and sometimes there was water pressure and sometimes there wasn’t. The location is good, with bus 71 to central Rome in front of the door and station Termini within a twenty minute walk. Yes, this is what they call a rough neighbourhood, like many station’s area’s in the world with beggars, but I never felt unsafe, even at night. It is out of control of the hotel’s management, but there is a bar on the corner oppositie my bedroom with very loud public open until 2 am, so sleeping without ear plugs is almost impossible. And the hotel is situated in an older building with very poor insulation, so other guests, sometimes clearly drunk, arriving back at 3 pm and than loudly discussing the state of affairs in this world for half an hour in the hall or kitchen, may wake you up as well. If you want uninterrupted sleep, you may want to make a different choice. But the reason that I will still give this place a high score, is the manager Alessia, who was very kind. She gave me very clear instructions about entering this place upon arrival. The two front doors with an entrance code and the door of the hotel was opened automatically by remote by her. And whenever I had a question, a quick reply followed via WhatsApp. This combined with a price of €56 a night, €5 of tax included, at a very central location makes that despite the lack of sleep, I am positive about my stay at Max House Hotel.

One night stay in Rome
The room was clean and nice and the TV even worked! The wifi is great and breakfast is provided. It's a 10 minute walk from a metro station, so it easy enough to get to all the important places. The owner speaks Italian (obviously) and Spanish and a little English.

great value for money. highly recommended
the place is really affordable, and to me its all about the details. the room was clean, linen clean, was given a full set of towels the minute I arrived, good fast internet, super friendly the lady (owner?). the bathroom was clean, and had several little carpets to put when you come out, white items were really white, there were tissues, hairdryer, even covers for the toilet as well as toiletries. good shower powerful to relax after a day walking.
the room was well equipped with hangers in the closet and also on the walls, night tables, lamps, tv, chairs etc. bed was comfy!
The neighborhood is good during the day, the location is near a university so it gets busy at night and there's some weird looking people, I would say keep your eyes open if you go out. Its not super close from the city center but yes from the train station and there are buses right in front (I walked all the way to the Vatican and I was fine) there are plenty restaurants and bars around with affordable prices.

The first day, we had a flight delay, and came aroun 1 hour later than the stated check in with the staff, they kindly waited for us. Room is big and comfortable, well equiped. It has air conditioned, fact that made me very happy.
The only thing I would point, is that, at least here in Expedia, it states that Breakfast is included and it wasn't. No problem, in front of the restaurant, there's a small market whre you can buy fruits, milk, bread and so on.
Bus stop is in front of hotel, and remember to GET YOUR TICKETS BEFORE TAKING THE BUS and VALIDATE THE TICKET IN THE YELLOW MACHINES INSIDE THE BUS. There's a tabbachi store one street away from the hotel, where you can get the bus/tram/metro ticket for 1.5 eur.
