Great hotel

A wonderful stay at Hotel Eichenhof – everything is just right here! You feel warmly welcomed upon arrival. We would especially like to highlight the extraordinary friendliness and warmth of the entire staff. All employees are attentive, courteous, and always there with a smile. A very special compliment also goes to the host, who, with his personal, warm manner, contributes significantly to making you feel at home immediately. The breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired: a great selection, fresh products, and an all-around successful start to the day. A real highlight is the beautiful garden area. Designed with great attention to detail, it invites you to relax and linger. In addition, the wonderful pool, which provides the perfect refreshment after an excursion in the area – simply dreamy! The Eichenhof combines a beautiful setting with excellent service and an exceptionally warm atmosphere. You can tell in every detail that hospitality is truly lived here. I felt completely comfortable and would love to come back. A clear recommendation for everyone looking for special accommodation with heart in Dorf Tirol!

Comfortable stay

Recently stayed for 4 nights, breakfast included. Good sized room with balcony, ok view. Good sized bathroom with good shower. Good quality breakfast, typical continental selection. Liked that tables were allocated for breakfast. Bus nearby allowing access and links to walks.

Nice Dog Friendly Hotel in South Tyrol

Hi I stayed one week in this hotel with my wife and dog and it was great. The room was very comfortable with a nice view of the mountains. The breakfast was ok with meats,cereals and scrabbled eggs. I spent most of the time in the fitness room then in the sauna and indoor pool. It does have a outdoor pool but it was still a little too cold to use it. They give us a card to use the buses and get into different museums for free so we just parked the car and took the bus everywhere .the place is very dog friendly I took the dog everywhere I went ( but not in the sauna or pool) even on the buses and for dinner. The owner Andreas Götsch and his helper Samy and his friendly staff makes sure you have a pleasant stay . Thank you Andreas for a wonderful time

Beautiful hotel with a rather poor service

Currently staying at Hotel Eichenhof, it is a nice family run hotel situated on the way to Tirolo. The owner, Andreas is very welcoming and helpful. He Is very well mannered and is always ready to help. He speaks German and Italian well, he also is able to communicate in English. He is the mastermind of the hotel, helping out in all the sectors, whether it is the reception, kitchen, restaurant, ... everything ... believe me, he is a treasure!
The rest of the staff leave a lot to be desired, they can only speak German. It is useless trying to talk to them in English or even in Italian. (Keep in mind that Tirolo is in Italian territory!)
The hotel environment is clean, attractive and welcoming yet the service is quite poor. A major discomfort, sometimes a problem for us, a family with teenage children, is the very poor internet connection (WLAN). We told the owner who said that it is mainly because of the rather remote location of the hotel. I’m not sure about this because we’ve been in similar or more remote locations with excellent WiFi.
Dinner is served between 18.45 and 19.30hrs and we have to make sure to be there early because certain dishes served as a buffet tend to finish and are not always replaced . On the first evening Andreas told us that tap water is drinkable and can be served in jugs at table, yet to our astonishment we are charged for this tap water! Something we have never ever experienced, most especially never in the Italian and also Austrian Tyrol.
The children complained of the lack of variety of pastries for breakfast, there is only one type, a custard tart, no croissants or toast or children’s favorite cereals, although yoghurts, juices, bread are excellent.
Another disappointment is the hot tub which has been closed and empty for three days. Being rainy we were really looking forward to a warm dip but we found it closed and empty. We are promised to
have it ready tomorrow, ... still to see.
Andreas told us that we were the first ever Maltese nationals to visit this beautiful hotel, I wish we can give a good review and promote this hotel in our country and with our friends by the end of our stay but the service is rather lacking so far

Lovely Stay

First time in this South Tyrol area and it was lovely. I'm used to more adventurous travels in exotic locations. But now that I am married and have a baby, this was quite perfect. South Tyrol is stunning - we were here late spring so hot already and green everywhere with snow still at the mountain peaks. Vineyards galore.
At this hotel, the staff were super friendly and pleasantly helpful. We needed to sterilize some baby items and they were happy to do so for us. Our suite was very comfortable, including the baby bed, and very spacious. We had a corner room with two balconies! We did the half-board (breakfast and dinner included), which made meals easy. And we enjoyed all of the food. Nice gym. Pretty grounds. Parking was plentiful. Pool area was relaxing.
This hotel is not in the city center, which I normally prefer. But we had a car so it really was fine. And overall peaceful. It was easy to get to Merano. But there are also buses that can take you to many places.
