The closest hotel to the sand bath

Hakkei of Yubara Onsen is located beyond the suspension bridge in front of the sand bath. The nearby parking lot is a bit sloping so I was careful when I parked my car.
Room 320 is a 12-tatami mat Japanese-style room with a small room with a board wall, where a massage machine is installed.
The sand bath can be seen clearly from the window. The sand baths were mandatory, and were available for free rental at the inn, and women were offered cami-one-piece bathing suits. Change of clothes is done in the changing room of the sand bath. The sand bath was completely poured from the source, and it was very pleasant to see clear and colorless water gushing from the bottom of the river.
The ryokan's large public bath was operated with circulation for hygiene management while using the source, and the water was a little lukewarm and kind to the skin. There are indoor baths, outdoor baths and saunas, and men and women change in the morning and evening. I don't use a private bath, but it seems that the use of hot water is different from that of a large public bath because the source of the water comes out 100% from the tap.
The meal was really rich with more than 50 different vegetables, and it was a healthy menu. It was great that the three of us chose different dishes (Tohaku beef, abalone, ayu) in the main kaiseki where we could choose, and shared and enjoyed all kinds.
Hakkei-san also seems to be planning events all year round, and on the day he stayed, there was a mochi pounding event. Anko, Kinako and even grated radish were prepared, which was a fun time.
The room has only the bare minimums, no skincare amenities or welcome sweets. When I checked in, I was served small boiled corn, and I think that is the welcome food. Hakkei-san was the most expensive and slightly more expensive of the inns I stayed at this summer, but it was an inn where you could enjoy unique experiences such as sand baths and vegetable-based meals. The landladies full of vitality waved me off as I left, and I was very impressed.

The hotel is situated in an old onsen town. The town has some interesting character. However, lots of shops and restaurants have off days. So you need to plan for food in advance

Snow hot spring ♨️Best

The snowscape is beautiful. The hot springs are also alkaline and smooth. The food is also delicious.
For occasional indulgence, this is the place to go.
The building is old, but the interior seems to have been beautifully renovated.

You should do it yourself.

Immediately after check-in, I asked, "Will you pay 200 yen per person for the SDGS co-payment?" That's what I was told. After I paid with my credit card at checkout, they asked me to pay the SDGS co-payment for recycling, etc., and I paid you in cash. It's not on the receipt. Is there anything suspicious about this? No other inn in Yuhara takes such things. Accommodation costs are higher in this area, so it would be cool if we paid for it ourselves. By the way, there are two types of charges on the receipts here: bath tax and bath charge.
