Better is camping

Best campsite... with pitches very far apart, private bathrooms, very clean and new, right at the park entrance.

Easily one of the best camping sites ever been to! Huge space to leave car and set up your tent, giant bathroom with electricity (compatible EU plugs) a patio and a small rooftop. Plus, communal swimming pool; great after a hot day hiking about. Furthermore, a gas station with plenty of food at (honestly) reasonable prices. Could not recommend it more!

Perfect base for Sossusvlei – Sossus Oasis Campsite, August 2025

In August 2025 we spent some pleasant days with our group at the Sossus Oasis Campsite. The location is ideal – right at the entrance to Sossusvlei, which made early trips to the dunes particularly easy and convenient.
The campsite was clean, well organized and provided a relaxed atmosphere. Each plot had its own shade area and private sanitary facilities, which made the stay very comfortable. The surrounding landscape was impressive – with sweeping views and the typical colors of the Namib Desert.
A special highlight was the buffet dinner at the Sossus Oasis Lodge. The choice was varied, the food fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere pleasant and welcoming – a nice end to an eventful day.
The local team was friendly and helpful and contributed significantly to the positive overall impression.
The Sossus Oasis Campsite is a recommended accommodation for those who want to explore Sossusvlei, with a good location, comfort and a relaxed environment.

Service Station Market

This camp site has a filling station at the entrance, and the market offers a bit of everything from clothing or sunscreens to drinks and some simple meals, such as sandwiches and patties.
We ordered just these last two options, a large meat patty with pepper, a ham and cheese toast and three sodas, spending about 17 USD.
It is a good option to cool down after deadvlei.
