Heaven in Granity

Words won't explain how amazing the Ghost lodge is and photos do do it justice.
We wanted a very special place to go with special friends and could not have asked for a better location, better service. I have been all over the world and to find this in our back yard is something special. Thank you to the owners, fellow guest. Just amazing.

Super relaxing stay in this gem of a Lodge with the best hot tub

We stayed in the Lodge for one night on our travels to and down the West Coast. We were looking for something relaxing after tramping for four days, and man, we're we happy about this find! We booked the wood fired hot tub by the sea front (65$) and soaked in that while the weather was drizzly. The location provided great views of the sea front and the mountains along the coast. We then cooked some dinner in the well equipped kitchen, and went back for a second soak in the tub during sunset. Absolutely magical!
We were the only guests at the time, so had the lodge to ourselves. We stayed in the queen+single room upstairs which was nice.
Everything was very clean and the hosts helpful and polite.

Gosh. So so good!!!

Plush, welcoming, spacious set up and environment, beachside.
Everything is super clean.
Full kitchen (take your own food), light breakfast provided which is all you need Great lounges, spaces inside and outdoor areas.
A choice of hot tubs at extra cost - I used the beachfront tub. Perched above the rolling waves and with coastal views.

Very chill, very easy, wonderful stay

We saw the Lodge driving up to Karamea and, on a whim, booked it online to break the journey going back south.
What a lucky find. We had the green room which isn't very large but has an en-suite. We kind of let ourselves in and out and never met Simon himself, but the two guys staying on the upper floor immediately pointed us towards the table up on the sea wall. We cooked some pasta for dinner and took it up there to eat during sunset - magical.
The garden is beautiful, as is the room, everything very lovingly and tastefully decorated.
Very chill atmosphere, very easy, wonderful stay, highly recommended.
