· Blu Hostel is highly recommended. We booked a room with a self-contained kitchen and private bathroom, which suited our needs perfectly. The little kitchen had a full gas stove (and oven), fridge/freezer, sink, basic pots, pan, crockery, and cutlery so perfect to make small meals in the room. The bathroom (shower, toilet, and sink) is small and clean with towels included. The air conditioner works very well in the room as Panama is consistently hot and humid. The Blu Hostel staff are friendly and helpful, and all speak English which helps a lot. The hostel location is perfect in terms of numerous supermarkets, restaurants, copy shops, medical offices, and much more. It is also within walking distance to a subway station, bus routes, taxis and Ubers. The hostel has a 'no noise' policy for evenings so that everyone is able to get a good night's rest in the comfort of their rooms. The hostel offers a reliable drop-wash-dry laundry service ($6 per big load) which normally takes day and a half. The hostel offers different types of rooms etc to suit different traveler needs. The hostel staff leaves you be and ask when you would like cleaning or any assistance. The hostel offers free basement parking but please bear in mind that some pick-ups/cars may not fit the height restrictions. The hostel front entrance and parking is always locked to ensure safety for all guests.

If you value cleanliness, security, service, and honesty, this is not the place to stay.

I booked here for 3 weeks starting January 4, 2023. When I arrived on Jan 4, it was simply awful. I did not even check in after I saw the room and went to stay elsewhere. There was garbage all over the front of the building. There was no security because the front door was left unlocked - the bolt lock left ajar for everyone. The elevator was broken. The air was not working and it was very hot and humid. The first room had no window in the bedroom, and the second room the linens and pillows were yellowish and grossly lumpy. I had paid in full almost 1,000USD. They have refused to provide a refund of any sort. To this day when I continue to ask for my refund they provide stock meaningless answers like it has gone to their acounting dept - but it ends there week after week, They claimed they did not know how to refund over PAYPAL so I sent them the refund link as did PAYPAL - but they ignored it. What you see online is not what you get. I would not recommend staying here. There are far better, cleaner, secure, honest places in this area of Panama City.

New place is great

I was very happy with this hostel. New construction and great and safe location. Manager was very helpful and responsive. I will definitely return here. Bed comfortable, basic needs available in apartment, safe neighborhood and staff were great. I was very happy for this spot. see you soon
