A short stay in Cusco needs to be at San Blas Plaza Inn
I found San Blas Plaza Inn to be a perfect place to stay in Cusco because it is 5/5 for location, 5/5 for the value for your money, 5/5 for their staff support, and everything is within walking distance.
It may not have the facilities you expect, but it offers good value for the money you pay for your accommodation. Plus, the staff are wonderful people - they truly provide for your needs and support your requests. A wonderful place for a short stay in Cusco.
I would definitely come back for another short stay if I am in Cusco.

Nightmare hotel!!!
which in turn turned to “MacchuPicchu over mountain”. I stayed at this hotel booked through Civitatis and the experience was nothing short of disastrous.
Main problems encountered:
Missing essential services:
No heating in the rooms (unacceptable considering that in Cusco night temperatures drop even to -3/-4°C)
Absence of minibar
Shower with cold water
Poor structural conditions:
Dirty room with obvious stains on the walls
Damaged furniture and furnishings
Bathroom with drain not working
Clogged sinks
Inadequate customer Service:
Forced to request an emergency radiator
Charged 10 soles for additional heating (shameful!)
Conclusion:
Structure completely inadequate to the minimum standards of hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for those booking through Civitatis. Price quality ratio is non-existent. A rat hole!!! More than three stars.

I’ve visited run-down-motels with better quality
The room looked unpleasant; the shower curtain was moldy, and the bathroom had a window that opened into the room itself!!
In the hallway on the second floor, I tripped on a step I didn’t see because the lights were off. All I got from the host was a simple “sorry”; they didn’t offer any help or first aid to treat my knee.
This place is classified as Hotel but definitely they aren’t.

Improvement suggestions. Better curtains light of lobby shines thru when on 1st floor.
Needs floormats in bathroom on super cold tiles. Showerhead was cracked water splashes outside on cold tiles.
Electrical plugs hard to reach. Room enetrior needs some modernization.

By far one of our worst hotel experiences
We were stuck with room 209, right by the stairs—the only room they said could fit our family of four. We had booked expecting a renovated room, but instead got one that was outdated and far from what we saw online. To top it off, we had to wait until 12:30 PM to check in, even though check-in time was supposed to be 11 AM.
The room faced an internal courtyard, and the noise echoed so much that it was impossible to ignore. With multiple windows and a vent instead of a bathroom window, we could hear everything. Worse, the stairwell light, which stayed on all night, made it feel like daylight in our room.
Since Cusco is a hub for Machu Picchu, guests were leaving as early as 4 AM, which meant we were woken up every morning by people chatting and walking through the courtyard. With the noise not dying down until late at night, we barely got any sleep.
The bathroom smelled bad, and while there was hot water, the towels, though clean, were torn.
Breakfast was disappointing—just bread, butter, jam, and coffee or tea. We had to ask for avocado so our kids had something more to eat.
