Great stay! Loved the team!

My family stayed there for four nights last week and had a wonderful experience. The team’s kind and attentive service is what made our stay so memorable.

DaVinci Gorilla Lodge

DaVinci Gorilla Lodge offers nice accommodations with friendly staff in an excellent location for mountain gorilla trekking. Hot water bottles in bed, charcoal for the fireplace, and a charcoal heater—which they brought out to the outdoor terrace in front of our cabin—made the cool nights more comfortable. After our trek, they cleaned our boots, and a relaxing foot massage was included in the price. However, we found the accommodation a bit overpriced, likely due to the attractive location. As mentioned in previous reviews, the hotel tried to charge us a higher price than what was listed in our Booking.com reservation, so we recommend carefully checking your final bill.

This hotel is the best place to stay in Kinigi/to gorilla trek! It’s the closest lodge to the Dian Fossey campus and women’s village, and the staff is exceptional. They are very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. We loved that we’d come back to the hotel and they’d clean our shoes and give us a foot massage. They’d also get a fire going in your room while you are having dinner. We’d come back to bed with a heated bed (thanks to a warm water bottle they place in there) and a fire going. We felt we were in the coziest hotel room ever. The food was great too with an ever changing menu. I’d recommend getting the full board. It’d be hard to try restaurants at different lodges, so you’d save money instead of buying the meals separate. Last but not least, the super sweet dog Sparky. He added so much charm and welcomed all guests. We loved having him around so much.

I booked this hotel through Expedia. But, the hotel canceled on me due to overbooking on their part. They called me while i was in the car traveling to check in. I had to change reservations to another hotel. In addition, I never to this date, have received a refund. My bill on expedia was over $900. The hotel didn't bother informing expedia of their mistake. I am still waiting a refund. don't take a chance on this place.
