Loss of belongings

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing. I left a bag with a pair of high-value tennis on the spot and, as soon as I realized the item was absent, I contacted the hotel. At the time, I was reassured by the team, who confirmed that the object was kept safe and informed that I could remove it whenever I wanted. Since I live in Brazil and the hotel is in Barcelona, this information was essential for me to feel safe.
Months later, when I organized the pickup of the item, the hotel simply informed that the bag and the tennis was no longer there. Only then was I told about a supposed domestic policy of keeping belongings for just six months. This is absurd, because this information has never been passed on to me before. On the contrary: what I was told was that my belongings were safe and that I could pick him up whenever I wanted.
I have records of conversations in which the hotel itself confirms that the object was saved, both for me and for my boyfriend. Therefore, besides the disappearance of my belongings, there was a clear lack of transparency and contradiction in the care provided. I consider the situation very serious, due to the loss of a valuable item and the total lack of responsibility and respect for the guest. I do not recommend.

Room was clean, modern. The staff was very friendly. It was the best shower I've had in my entire trip. The patio area was amazing and underrated!

Great location near Parallel Metro, 10 mins walk to Las Ramblas. Large apartment with aircon. Near a lovely baker, Forn de Pa Piquer-Sergi.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Good value. Significant roadworks outside, but living area of our apartment was at the back, away from the noise.
