A secret, serene five star Oasis awaits you
Just spent 6 days at this idyllic retreat. I lost my Mother to Covid in 2021 followed by the death of my mother in law and then redundancy from a stressful job after 18 years. My wife also works for the NHS with the past two years of covid being manic for her also. So after redundancy we decided we needed some time off to de-stress and recharge. We chose the Spanish countryside as Spain is our favourite getaway place, and rather than the bustling beach or Spanish cities we normally opt for we chose this B&B in the countryside, not far from Calpe, to recharge our batteries. Villa Sueno Grande B&B in the Valencian countryside didn't disappoint. It's set amidst a lush, sub tropical backdrop of emerald green and amber brown mountains glistening beneath a pure pearl blue Catalan sky. Nestled mid way up a beautiful landscape of valleys and mountains, the views are spectacular from every angle. This is what greeted us as we traversed the serene mountain roads towards Sueno Grande. Once there, we were greeted by the lovely English hosts, Tiffany and her husband Dave, who were polite, friendly, very accommodating and laid back. From the offset nothing was too much trouble for them. Once inside the grounds, Tiffany very politely showed us around and then to our room. Inside the grounds the beauty from outside continued and we were greeted by a small but beautiful pool and poolside area with comfortable adjustable sunbeds surrounded by swathes of palm trees and tall Aloe Vera plants that complemented the pearl blue skies and the uninterrupted views of the mountains all around. You can see this serene beauty on the pictures attached. There were also various seating areas aplenty, rattan sofas, cane furniture, wooden seats and porcelain bistro sets etc, neatly dotted neatly around the grounds. This meant you were never short of a place to relax or a quiet place to contemplate. In addition to this, adjacent to the poolside area, was a large white summer house/ pool house. A large professional gazebo, attached to this, provided ample shade from the midday sun should you wish this. Inside the pool house were further sofas and a washing machine, for a small fee which came in very handy, and an honesty bar. The honesty bar was well stocked, with lovely bottles of red wine which included ones from local vineyards, a coffee machine and a huge fridge full of beer and chilled white wine at very reasonable prices. We partook in a bottle of red one day and one evening underneath the stars and it was heavenly sipping in the peace and quiet of the grounds. Our room, was actually a lovely Finca in the grounds, there are also rooms in the main villa should you wish this if available, but we opted for the separate Finca. We had a separate private terrace with a bistro table and chairs which we enjoyed, with unspoilt views of the mountains in the day, and the stars above at night which shone clearly in the clear unpolluted night sky. Pictures of our room are also attached. The room/ Finca was ample size for two, with a comfortable bed, large ensuite bathroom and even a Dolce Gusto coffee machine with a nice selection of smooth coffees. It had a patio door to the private terrace at the back and a window that overlooked the mountains beyond. There was also a black out blind on the window and black out curtains on the patio doors which made sleeping so refreshing. The mountains outside our window were an early morning vision of serenity, that served to calm and de-stress us every time we pulled back the shutters each morning. Granted, Villa Sueno Grande is secluded and quiet, but that's the beauty of it. However, it's still only 10-15 minutes from a couple of quaint typically Spanish villages by car. The nearest one, of which you can see nestled at the foot of the mountains from our room window. Both villages are scenic with medieval churches, quaint alleyways, a couple of restaurants, tapas bars, shops and a supermarket. All the villagers are so friendly and welcoming too. We got the impression that the villagers demeanour and friendliness was genuine, passionate and relaxed. You were there to enjoy their village and beautiful landscape and for this we gained that they were grateful, and it only served to make us more relaxed. We also enjoyed wine tasting one evening for 12 euros within the local vineyard of the village, ask Tiffany about this who will gladly book for you when available, should you wish. The breakfast each morning was continental but the choice was varied and huge. We were served with enough prosciutto ham, a selection of salamis and cheeses to fill us up for the whole day. Additionally there was fruit including bananas, oranges, grapes and peaches etc, along with cereals, croissants, Danish pastry, toast, crusty bread, yoghurts, fresh boiled eggs from Tiffany and Daves resident chickens, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice etc. All served al-fresco if you wished within the quietness of the still morning air. Albeit a B&B the hosts also serve evening dinner for an additional but very reasonable extra price, just let them know a day in advance and they will cater to all tastes. We had a paella for two one evening al-fresco, cooked by Tiffany whose home cooking was amazing, in front of us which was akin to having your own personal chef. This also included a crafe of wine each, a side of fried peppers, Parma ham wrapped dates and a home made pannacotta dessert. Tiffany was so lovely and made each evening meal feel so romantic for us with bread rolls and water on the table too. On another evening Tiffany cooked us mixed vegetables, potatoes and salmon fillets with a side of Spanish garlic mushrooms, again with a carafe of beautiful local wine, and all so tentatively and amazingly presented. Her attentiveness and friendliness reminded us of a high end intimate restaurant, rather than a quality B&B, nothing was too much for her, really made you feel welcome and relaxed. A five star meal and service should you not wish to travel to the local village, and why would you when you have a wonderful chef in Tiffany along with the service, beautiful views and the very refined wine knowledge of her husband Dave, who was always willing to chat and very approachable too. We couldn't fault Tiffany and Dave. They were excellent, even sitting with us on a couple of nights outside with a bottle of wine. We laughed and chatted with them under the stars, and they felt like old friends, they were that easy to chat to, a testament to their nature and the Oasis in the mountains that they've so lovingly created. That being said you are there to relax and to be left alone, and they make sure of this with no interaction unless you need them, and then they're always pleased to help if you do need them. I also believe at some points of the year they offer cycling holidays too, within the local Valencian mountains, which unfortunately I'd love to do at a later stage but I'm sadly awaiting a knee operation. The feel is relaxation and pampering and adventure too if you feel the need.
After two days we felt relaxed, and after a week we didn't want to leave. If you need to de-stress, get away from it all, or just want a nice relaxing break amongst the real Spanish countryside then go here and literally feel like a millionaire with a private chef, attentive service, secluded privacy, serene peacefulness and amazing views. I promise you won't be disappointed and you'll come back with a smile, a long, drawn out relaxed smile that will endure for a long time afterwards.

Fantastic short break in a beautiful villa.
We stayed with David, Tiffany and Albert at the end of September for a few nights after a visit to Valencia. The villa is immaculate, clean and tidy. The facilities are excellent. We just wanted to chill for a few days after a hectic week and the setting is ideal for that. However, it's also ideal for walking, cycling, running and lots of other outdoor activities and you don't need a cycle because Dave and Tiffany can organise one for you.
I would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be returning.

We had a great time at David,Tiffany and Albert' s , their son.the accommodation had everything we needed.amazing welcome, friendly advice,beautiful surroundings .it s the perfect place for a family holiday.can't wait to go back there!
