A Complete Absence of Hospitality - Hostile Staff and Ruined Celebrations
I'm compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience at this establishment.
Having travelled extensively, I rarely encounter such a complete absence of basic hospitality standards.
During our two-night stay, we paid €672 for three guests, expecting at minimum a professional and courteous environment. Instead, we were met with indifference bordering on hostility from the reception staff.
The most shocking incident occurred during breakfast when we had arranged in advance to celebrate a birthday. I had coordinated this with the staff beforehand via messages, making a simple request for a candle on a muffin. What should have been a pleasant moment turned into a deliberately uncomfortable situation. A young staff member approached our table and, in what felt like a demonstration of her clear animosity toward us, lit the candle right in front of our table rather than preparing it beforehand. She then placed it on the table in complete silence without uttering a single word—no "congratulations," no "happy birthday," nothing—and immediately walked away. Her entire demeanour suggested she was doing us some kind of favour we didn't deserve. The hostility was palpable and intentional. If hotel staff find guests so unpleasant that they cannot perform basic courtesies without displaying open contempt, perhaps they should consider a different line of work. This was not merely poor service; it was deliberate rudeness that turned what should have been a celebratory moment into an awkward and unpleasant experience for everyone at our table.
Simple requests throughout our stay were treated as burdens rather than normal guest services. When we asked for basic amenities such as an iron, we were informed the hotel doesn't stock them—surprising for an establishment at this price point. The staff's demeanour was consistently unwelcoming, with communication delivered in a manner more appropriate for settling disputes than assisting paying guests. They speak to guests as if addressing family members during a domestic argument—lacking any semblance of professional courtesy.
What struck me most was the complete lack of service recovery. When issues arose, there was no acknowledgment, no apology, and no attempt to improve the situation. The staff seemed either untrained in hospitality fundamentals or simply uninterested in guest satisfaction.
For the price paid, one expects not luxury necessarily, but basic professionalism and courtesy. This establishment failed to deliver even that minimum standard. The physical facilities may be adequate, but hospitality is fundamentally about people and their attitude toward guests. This hotel demonstrated a profound misunderstanding of what guest service means—displaying brutality where there should be warmth, and indifference where there should be care.
I cannot recommend this hotel and would strongly advise travellers to consider alternatives where their custom is valued and where staff understand that their role is to enhance, not ruin, guests' experiences. This establishment clearly does not understand what hospitality means.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel
The hotel is up a hill from the sea front, but if you go up the main street, it has a 'people mover' making the journey back to the hotel an easy walk.

Dismal Service and Brutality / Horrific Service and Brutality
Unfortunately, the service was really horrific. We were three people, we paid 672 euros for two nights, and the result was ugly faces (almost like zombies, at the reception) when you asked something (for instance an iron, in fact they don’t even have one in the entire hotel, or a candle on a muffin to celebrate birthday at breakfast, they brought one but you should see the face of the employee who did, a very young woman, she did it silently with a scary face, she lighted the candle and turned around back to her duties without saying a word or even smiling slightly. She created a disturbing situation!). They talk to guests as they do to their relatives at home, lack of manners, arguments, not even a possibility of saying sorry. Brutality and no hospitality al all!
