prima hotel

We stayed a week in this hotel in one of their suites. Our say was very pleasant. The room was large and comfortable and very clean. The staff was helpful and made our business stay very pleasant. The hotel has free access to internet.
The shopping centre of Paramaribo is nearby, just a short stroll.
Returning to Paramaribo, we surely would return to the hotel.

Never stay again

This hotel does not live up to its name. My experience was nothing short of disastrous especially with my business schedule. Firstly, upon arrival at 1am from a long flight I was placed in a room located adjacent to the Cafe. The excessively loud music and vibration was not conducive for sleep. They were kind to move me to a room far enough from the noise. There were torrential rain that day. On return to the hotel after meetings i was met with a pungent unbearable odor...apparently due to the rain. Air refresher and allowing the room to 'air out' for an hour didn't help so again, I was facilitated with a room change. Only this time the air conditioning was not working. The claim was the remote got decoded. At this time I was just thankful I was due to leave the hotel at midnight for my return flight. Breakfast was served at the Cafe next door which was not appetizing, to the eye or stomach. The yogurt was my safe choice. This should not be an option if you're looking for comfort or to rest. The room lighting was also poor so my eyes were attained using the laptop device. Maybe, the location in the heart of Paramaribo is a plus. Thankfully, the wifi was stable.

Not what it used to be

I have stayed here many times in the past and it was always very pleasant. However, the spa that used to be there is now gone, and the restaurant that was oh so good! has been replaced with a casino. There are now armed guards at the front door. Overall, you can't help but feel unsafe, also some unsavory looking characters at all hours of the night and day.
Water was cut off for 2 periods on one day, returning after 10 pm.
On the up side the staff is vey good.

Excellent

This hotel was our best choice because of the hotel transfers from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. Apart from that service the staff there are very friendly, helpful and verse in english which was a plus and they made our stay pleasant because we don't know any dutch at all lol..
The room was welcoming with all the usual amenities- King sized bed,tv with direct tv, minibar, Fridge, hot and cold shower wit a tub..
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting for the first time ..

Great front desk

Very good experience. Staff very helpful in arranging taxis, advice on getting around town. A 10-15 minute walk to the old town, sights and shopping. Good breakfast. Pleasant quiet room.Complimentary transfer to airport. Only problem, a delay in posting charges to my credit card account
